Most ministry “training” hands people information and hopes it changes how they care. Certification is different. It develops a competency, holds it to a standard, and recognizes the people who meet it — because the person entrusted with someone’s pain should be formed for the weight of it, not just briefed on it.
Certification develops competency across the whole of SAFE — seeing, assessing, forming, and equipping — together with the Playbook practices that put it into responsible daily use: intake, discernment, boundaries, escalation, referral, follow-up, and knowing the limits of a role. It is how Safe & Sound forms and stands behind the leaders who carry this work inside a church.
